This year, TCDA is thrilled to introduce a new professional conducting lab designed specifically for practicing choral educators and music professionals. Modeled after our successful undergraduate conducting workshop, this hands-on experience will give you the chance to refine your gesture, sharpen your podium skills, and explore expressive conducting in a low-stakes, high-feedback environment ahead of the new school year.

TCDA encourages conductors of all levels and backgrounds to apply, regardless of experience. Selection will prioritize those who feel they would benefit most from the experience.

Application Requirements:

  1. Please upload a video of yourself conducting one musical selection of your choosing to YouTube. The video should present a clear, full-body front view of the conductor. At the beginning of the video, briefly introduce yourself and the selected work. The performance may be drawn from either a concert or rehearsal setting. The total length of the video should not exceed five and a half minutes.
  2. In addition, submit a one-page written statement explaining why you believe you should be selected and outlining what you hope to gain from this experience.

Should you have any questions, please reach out to Dr. Eric Posada at collegevp@tcda.net

If selected, 2026 membership & convention registration is required to participate.
